Effective technology and authoring tools
need to provide enterprise-wide integration with a minimum of translators.
A large portion
of the alignment and coordination between electromechanical and mechanical
is due to data representation of one system in the other and the inability
to manage current information.
Translations and conversions need to be minimized. The number of
different, discipline-based user interfaces need to be reduced for the enterprise
user, and access to component design content, regardless of origin need to
be provided.
Additional areas of required integration are finance and manufacturing.
