Configuration Management
With
the increasing complexity of products and corporate pressures to bring them
to market quicker and cheaper, Configuration Management has been at the
forefront of most commodity producing companies.
Configuration Management is a mature process having its beginnings
in the 1970s. CMII is an advanced version of CM defining the best practices
that determine how well a tool manages the data throughout the product development
life cycle.
The Configuration Management core of VEMS is PDM based, currently using
UGS PLM's Metaphase/Teamcenter Enterprise as a foundation. VEMS will
be introduced on other PDM platforms in late 2004.
The VEMS module extends the Out-Of-The Box capabilities of Metaphase
to include instantiated electromechanical objects that are managed by VEMS
Configuration Management. |
